Body Work

Healthy movement is the base of sound performance. Our body work sessions include hands-on techniques like therapeutic massage, myofascial release, stretching, and joint mobilization to ease muscle tension, improve range of motion, and support comfort between training blocks or after an injury. These manual therapies are commonly used in sport horse practice to address neuromusculoskeletal pain and help restore normal movement patterns.
What to expect: after a brief gait and palpation exam, we tailor a plan that may include targeted soft-tissue work, active and passive stretches, and simple at-home exercises. In performance and rehab settings, manual therapy is often paired with controlled exercise and other modalities as part of a complete plan. Evidence in equine rehab is growing, and best results come from using body work under veterinary direction alongside training adjustments.
When we recommend it: recurring back or neck tightness, reduced flexibility, subtle performance changes, or as follow-up after lameness workups. If we find pain or mechanical restriction that needs further diagnostics, we will outline next steps before continuing.
